Releases

You can find all recent releases on berlios.de (http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2599), or can use one of the following links to download the latest version:

• Windows all-in-one installer: executable file (http://download.berlios.de/solipsis/solipsis-0.10-win32.exe) (works on Windows 2000, XP, and other recent versions)

Launch the executable installer and follow the instructions

• MacOS X: compressed application file (http://download.berlios.de/solipsis/solipsis-0.10-macosx.zip) (works on MacOS X 10.3 and later - hopefully)

Unpack the zip archive and then double-click on the application.

• Source code - Linux, Un*x: source code archive (http://download.berlios.de/solipsis/solipsis-0.10-src.tar.gz)

No compilation is required. Check the software requirements, unpack the tar.gz archive and type "./navigator.py".

Additional Services

Solipsis can be featured by additional services. Just download and extract them in the solipsis directory.

Profile

• Author: Emmanuel Bréton
• Description: the profile service contains many tools for interacting with neighbors and publishing personal data : profile, file transfer, lookup in shared folder, blog...

Bubble

• Author: Nerdbeard
• Description: messages entered in the chat window appear in a bubble above your avatar in the main window (a "comic" fashion). So will messages from other people having the bubble plugin.
• Download: bubble-0.1.tgz (http://mkp.ca/~mike/bubble-0.1.tgz)

HTTP Proxy

For people using an HTTP proxy to connect to the web, it is impossible to connect to the peer-to-peer network (as for any other peer-to-peer network). But, we provide a solution : connecting to a node running outside your intranet. However, you have to know an existing node on which you can connect to. We can give you the address of few nodes currently running under request on the mailing list (https://developer.berlios.de/mail/?group_id=2599)

Development versions

You can fetch Solipsis directly from our Subversion repository (https://developer.berlios.de/svn/?group_id=2599), which will give you the current development version. (Subversion is a version control system similar to CVS)

Or, you can download the latest development snapshot (http://solipsis.netofpeers.net/downloads) (they are re-generated hourly).

Finally, Solipsis is on Freshmeat (http://freshmeat.net/projects/solipsis/)
